I remember when I was a kid I could go to the corner shop with 6d in my pocket and come home with loads of sweets and chocolate bars.

Can't do that now.
They got cameras all over the place.

We get stuff nicked from the charity shop, the manager's caught more than one going through the bins early in the morning. If its getting chucked away from a charity shop, is it really worth skip diving?
