Title: Happy St George's Day
Post by: Alex on April 23, 2022, 10:09:22 AM
Did you forget ?   I did.
It seems everyone is allowed to be proud of their country..... until it comes to England.

it shows great disrespect to Scots as it was such a flag that was flown as so many Scots lost their lives in battles with the hated English :?:

Quoteso many Scots lost their lives in battles with the hated English

And yet , when they were short of money, they happily signed to Britain so the English could pay off their Darien debts....

St George did not invade Scotland, he bought it.

Scotland was bought for English gold by a few traitors in secret, behind closed doors.  :scot: :scot: :scot: :scot:

And Scotland has benefitted ever since. Oh, and it wasn't a few traitors - it was the whole Scottish Parliament

Looking at what Scotland gets from the Barnett Formula I reckon the traitors did quite well for you.

Really. You know I'm sick to death of having that bloody word Barnett thrown at me. The sooner we don't have it the better as far as I'm concerned.

And I'm heartily sick of the whole Scotland/hate/jealousy rubbish. I have no connections to Scotland but have never considered those who live there as anything other than Scots! No bad thoughts or resentments from the feckin Jacobite times..That was a style of furniture until this site! And crabbyob? You're the worst. Let it lie! Please.. :nooo:

I too had forgotten about St Georges Day too, not so widely publicised as Patrick, David and Andrew.  I agree with Alex, you'd think the Cross of St George was the Nazi flag the way some town halls and people go on, your not encouraged to be proud to be English.

A very happy St Georges Day to us all.

Thanks crabbyob for turning this St George's Day thread into a row about Scotland - AGAIN !
I was married to a Scot, I love Scotland and if you posted a similar thread for St Andrews Day,  I and I'm sure everyone on here would be wishing you well.

He may be on a flounce. No posts since the rather odd one I couldn't understand having failed History O level posted in another thread (possibly by accident).
