Title: The reading of the will.
Post by: Scrumpy on September 14, 2022, 09:16:14 AM
I have no idea how it is carried out when a monarch dies..
Can you imagine the family all gathering in the drawing room to be told who gets what and who gets nowt..   I would love to be a fly on the wall if this were the case..
Harry would be fighting William .. Charles and Andrew having a go because Andrew, being the favourite got more millions..
All the 'hangers on' being told that their homes were now being sold off to house the poor and illegal immigrants.. !!
... and through it all Meghan glaring daggers at Catherine..

I'll just wait to see if I get a cheque in the post. I'm not overly optimistic.

well, Prince Philip's will has been sealed for 90 years from the date of his death - don't know whether that is a precedent.

I just knew that those of you who criticised me for not showing grovelling subservient respect would not be able to resist participating in piss-taking for too long.

Lol  :upvote:

Wills are a public record for which anyone can obtain a copy if they so wish.

But, yet again, the Royals are above the law.

Maybe she got duped like Harry, and has left it all to Meghan.

As I said, whichever way the establishment tries to spin it, the bottom line is that the Royals are above the law that applies to everyone else.

I'd suggest that speculation would be embarrassing to the monarchy too. Top of my list would be bequests to person or persons related to Phil that were kept quiet about.

Prince Philip's mistresses, illegitimate children, and donations to dubious causes are to remain a secret for 90 years it is revealed today.
With news emerging last night that The Duke of Edinburgh's will is to remain a secret for 90 years to protect the 'dignity and standing' of the Queen, lawyers for the Royal family have today breathed a huge sigh of relief because seriously, you really don't want to know what's in there.

Sounds like my guess of the obvious was right then. I'll dig up a link if I can.

Ah I see. Hardly what I'd call a legitimate source then.
