The McDonald's sign has been removed in Moscow and replaced by another..
The new sign is of a circle and two lines.. meaning That's It.. I think I heard that right..
I was visiting Russia in 1990 when the MacDonald's opened.. much excitement..
I doubt the taste will be any different.. We tend to use a product because of the name...

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Likely to be turnip burgers for the proletariat now anyway. The sanctions are biting and the Russian economy has sunk lower than whale poo. They are artificially keeping the Rouble high of course but nobody wants it apart from to buy their gas.

Glad I'm not a surfer then....

Heard a lot of grumbles from Surfers, but never that one. AND we get whales swimming quite close to shore.

She is right though. I looked it up.

I first heard the expression when chatting on the phone to an American colleague just after it was announced that the software company we worked for had been bought out and he was talking about morale. That was 1989. Never thought to question it.
