Title: greed
Post by: Michael Rolls on March 02, 2022, 03:32:58 AM
interesting comment in the paper a couple of days ago. Touching on the invasion of the Ukraine, the writer reckoned that, in a way, the west has, to a degree, brought the present situation onto itself. Allowing dependency upon Russian energy and Chinese manufactured goods to replace any element of self sufficiency has encouraged Putin - and who knows how that will turn out - and has encouraged Xi to turn China's eyes towards Taiwan. Seeing Putin run rings round NATO and the UN and the EU, Xi must be licking his lips at Biden's limp response - and where the USA fails to lead, he can expect the rest to fail to follow.
I wonder what the situation would be had Trump won a second term?

I wonder - Putin presumably views Biden as a weak sister - don't think that he would have viewed Trump in the same light

I agree he wouldn't, but what the heck might he have done about it? Something rash maybe, like decking Putin. :yahoo:
