West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma has been ordered to carry out 180 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to kicking and slapping his cat.

The 27-year-old has also been banned from keeping cats for five years.

He's lucky his sentencing wasn't in my hands, the scumbag

Or mine, I loathe and detest animal abusers. I would made damn sure they all got a good dose of the treatment they dished out. That's only fair.....Isn't it?

Jacqueline

I would never let him have an animal again.

What would be a fitting punishment for his 180 hours community service? ideas?

Scrumpy

I also think he has lost his sponsorship with some big firm..
Fans dislike him and his brother..
Hopefully it will destroy his football career..

He is a nasty bit of work..  :nooo:
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Disgusting behaviour. The law has never been hard on animal cruelty for some reason.

High Time it was.

Alex

This incident was caught on camera, it makes me wonder how many times his cruelty towards his cats went unnoticed.
It won't affect his career, if it does he'll just go back to France.  Lenient sentences for animal cruelty are the norm, what happened to 5 years max in jail  ?

Jacqueline

Talking of cruelty to cats.  I am not a cat lover for the reason that I like and feed the birds, I have just seen a black cat sitting under my bird table after my birds.  It must belong to the new people down from us.  Any suggestions how to get rid of it? I shouted at it, it just looked at me, I then got the broom and shushed at it (before I land in the dock I was yards away) the cat just  just sat there, stubbon little so and so. Don't know what to do, we have always been cat free around here, and I have so many birds in the garden.

Jacqueline..
I am a cat lover.. but I 'shoo ' any away that are on the prowl.. looking for an easy target..
Shooing a cat away with a broom does no harm to the cat..
Even if the bristles touch it.. It will certainly make it move..
It's bonking it on the head that does the damage.. :nooo:

Someone mentioned rubber snakes would put cats off entering a garden.. Not so .. Kenneth sunbathes on the wall .. laying next to one the snake..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Fill a cup with cold water then throw the water at the cat. That always quickly removed the cat who used to come after the birds at my feeder. It soon stopped coming.

... and if that doesn't work upgrade to a bucket.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I am a cat lover but I have told our neighbours to chase our cat if he goes in their garden.
I would happily buy them a water pistol to keep him out.

Scrumpy

It never bothered me if my cat Polly came home a bit wet when it hadn't been raining..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Alex

A kids water pistol is the best bet as you can aim it !!!

Ultrasonic motion detected scarers work and aren't expensive. I got a solar powered one from Lidl for about a tenner several years ago and it still works. That was because I didn't appreciate the presents the local cat(s) left.
