They should have erected screen over the carriageway to protect vehicles if they fell and just left them up there. Two days of closure apparently and they'll likely get a £50 fine and bound over.

most probably - I would have advocated tarps over the carriageways and just leave the silly buggers up there

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the protesters v what happens to the firework aimers.

I thought it was inexplicable how the police just stood by and watched while protesters blocked the road at traffic lights.  The French police have the right idea  :grin:

Don't know why they didn't leave the road open, if the silly buggers fell down it would be their own fault I'd shed no tears.  I suppose a falling body could make an impact on a car though that would be a shame.
