Title: comfort foods.
Post by: alfred on September 04, 2022, 09:32:24 AM
I'm sure many people at various times in their lives eat comfort foods, whilst others turn to chocolate , or other  alternative foods to help ease their worries or anxieties,
(so do comfort eating really help) when a person is worried or has a problem they are trying to resolve,

Q; have you any thoughts or remedied when it comes to eating comfort foods and if so what else would you recommend , as usual your thoughts will make interesting reading,

I usually head for the freezer and my tub of Coconut Ice Cream. I have to get it from a shop that sells Orkney Ice Cream and that's away along at J.O.G. I take my own tub with me for them to fill up and it's put in a carrier bag at the back of the freezer untill needed.

for me, just about any food is comfort food as I grudgingly avoid chocolate and the like - trying to keep my weight within bounds

Have you tried making your own coconut ice cream Raven  ?

My downfall is bread, particularly crusty rolls with Lurpak.  I also love a thick slice of toast with butter and marmalade - that's comfort food for me, even at 2am.   Then of course there's the chocolate and ice cream........

I find the caramel/toffee ones too sweet. I love coconut ice cream or the pure white (not vanilla) one with the wee tiny chips of ice through it.

That looks good, must try that.

Crusty bread and butter, toast, cheese and I can eat a whole tub of olives.  I don't go much for sweet stuff these days my taste has changed since I was young and would devour chocolate, can take it or leave it these days.
