This was one of the water catching me out at Strathy, was heading for the rocks on a dry beach, next thing the tides tearing in at a hell of a speed and cutting me off. Had to paddle to get out of there.

As you can see, it wasn't like that a few minutes before. It was a Spring Tide and one moment it was calm, the next the waves were crashing where they don't usually.

two mates from the pit invited me to go beach casting, they almost collapsed laughing when i turned up in waders, they wore trainers... i caught a whiting that i considered too small so returned it, much to my mates annoyance, then when it was time to go we found we were fishing off a sandbar....lol... the water behind us was over two foot deep, so i became their uncle...lol

Yep it sure don't. It can be lovely and welcoming or it can be terrifying. But still it has a very strong call on me.
