Russell Brand has been accused of rape and sexual assaults by women who have broken their silence on alleged attacks between 2006 and 2013

I can't stand Russell Brand, I never found him funny and he was a pain in the arse at interrupting people on chat shows.  But I can't understand why these women didn't go to the police, why speak to journalists first  ?
Part of me thinks he's been set up, but the other part of me thinks maybe he used his fame to get his own way.  There'll be many people with Cuprinol on their bums, but time will tell.

As I said on the other forum, Prince Andrew is now old news so it's time for another famous person to be hung out to dry. Guilty or innocent it will bring him down.
I would as I also said, be more inclined to believe these so called accusers if they had spoken up at the time.
I know in some cases, Saville, Harris, it was true but look what it did to Cliff.
No, I am more leaning to another set up, but as usual it will be trial by the rotten media and another families lives ruined.
The man's no angel and has always freely admitted he was oversexed, but also always said his partners were fully consensual.

The stories may or may not be entirely true but I don't think the delay in complaining can be used as an argument that they are false. There are umpteen  such late complaints that are later shown to be true (and sometimes untrue). Nor should the fact he worked for the BBC be claimed as proof he is a perv. There are always exceptions to every rule.

It's a case of wait n see. But personally, when I was younger if some bloke had tried to interfere with me I would have not kept quiet I can assure you.

A huge amount of contributive detail will need to be gathered, prior to any hearing. So far much heresay. Are the women merely  seeing if Brand will pay up to shut them up? Who knows or frankly cares. The work involved to get a decision will rock on for years, not a bad thing for him through the patronage of the low lives who support his vile filth.

I'd never heard of him until he and his co-hort 'Jonathan Woss' caused poor Andrew Sachs distress over his grand daughter, in such a tragic way.

A great comedian we here? What compared to the likes of Spike Milligan or Peter Cook.

The only time he ever made me laugh was in the remake of the St Trinians films. His stand up is not worth bothering about IMO.

The guy has never been remotely funny so far as I'm concerned, but I do have to admit that my view has only been formed from the items I've seen about him on the news, I've never actually watched him through choice.

I do find it strange that we only hear about these alleged historical sexual offences in cases where big bucks compensation is on the cards.

If they're not a celebrity, they've been childrens' homes workers where the local authority or churches can be sued etc.

He's never been my cup of tea either.I feel for his wife, Laura, daughter of the golfer Bernard Gallacher.  They have two little girls, can't imagine how she must be feeling ATM.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Well in his favour, I suppose, he has openly admitted to being very promiscuous in his younger days.

The problem he'll face is proving that all his hook-ups were consensual.

Conversely Phil, the Prosecution will have to prove positive, with only 1 in 5 of the Channel 4 'contributors' prepared so far to either identify, let alone proceed.

Hopefully many more will appear. However with him banging up to 5 girls a day (gained for him by his 'runner') it would seem these young women were more than keen to participate.

What an ugly world, on  both sides herein to this debacle we have become?  Personally 'private' lives amongst consenting adults to me are just that. Sadly today's values however are nearly always driven by greed. The wretched man may have promulgated all this spurious filth to get more 'bait-clicks', I'm told by an ex contact, a 'Sun' journalist who specialised in these sordid proceedings.

Alternatively young women get older, perhaps face a bad divorce etc so need funding and fancy a day in court as a try on, or a cheque for a few grand to stand down and go away?

So what are they covering up with this attempt at scandal?

Raven

Just said on the News that not one person has reported his actions to the police. If he abused them......Why Not?  :waiting:

Only thing I can think is that his sateless desire for young women may have driven him into under age activity etc. I can see the advantage to him to enlarge the scandal as long as it's legal - questionable but legal. The young women of say 2003 may now be respectably married surburbanite 'mums-net' types with the hubby locally in 'Rotary' etc so won't surface for the sake of changed circumstance to expose more risqué pasts, for an uncertain benefit?

In my day I found that for the reasons I've stated above and the fact that many wait to see how the tides running before getting onboard. These type of actions initially are like pushing a car with a flat battery - you never know when it might start and leave you behind or shudder to a halt, dumping you prostrate upon the road! This could all just be a Russell Brand wind up, a risk taken in calm consideration to boost his income, potentially by millions I'm told?
