I see that the first £300 of the £900 cost of living payment is being paid to the lucky sods on benefits.

I see it as £900 out of my private pension as it's my own money that'll go towards my extra cost of living.

I'd hate to be on benefits - £900 won't last long.

Wouldn't you think they'd give it them later in the year ... to help with winter electric bills.
This way it'll already be spent  on summer holidays and spanish beaches.

I don't mind helping people on Benefits if they are bothering to help themselves.. Some who are on low wages must be finding it a struggle ..
The people who are struggling yet continue to have more children annoy me..
I don't mind helping any pensioner who is finding it hard to live on a pension.. Not everyone was lucky enough to contribute towards extra pension in their later life..
I count myself as being lucky.. It must be misery for some.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

To a degree but once on benefits they extend. Rent and rates - not if you are on benefits. Tax - not if you are on benefits they are tax free. There are plenty who have a small private pension that takes them over the threshold and end up worse off than if they didn't have it.
