Scrumpy

... other than me.!!

I did a shop earlier.. Toilet rolls ARE getting smaller..
I am sure there are many things that are not as big as they once were..
Am I imagining it.. !!
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Raven

Seems to be the way of the shops these days. New packaging, less of the item and charge more.

Leg having it's exercise earlier this morning. Quite Ouchy. :worried:

Sheila

Yes Scrumpy, toilet rolls are definitely getting smaller.

Raven, we've got exercises to do too.  Paul is probably going to have two knee replacements but they are keeping him off the waiting list by having him do exercises.  He has no cartlidge! (I don't know how to spell that!)

My legs are weak.  It started when I was told to stay in because I was CEV.  My hip is hurting too but I have a stepper and Paul has an exercise bike.

Oh to be young again - and have more money to buy toilet paper!

GrannyMac

Oh to be young again, and pain free Sheila. I'm probably heading for one new knee, can't use a stepper, my main problem is stairs. Water based exercise is the answer, I know Raven is missing her regular swims.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Loo rolls are getting smaller.  My friend did some shopping for me when I was ill and I'd put loo rolls on my list.  She came back with 9 rolls from Aldi, gee whizz cheap and nasty.  I usually buy Aldi packs of 4 Aloe Vera or Coconut    they are much better.
That little exercise machine looks good and sturdy Raven, I bought a cheap one couple of years ago, what's that saying buy cheap, buy twice ? something like that....

I have stepper machine thingy.. Crabby recommended it..
I find it  good for balance and it seems to strengthen up the legs..

..  Cadbury cream eggs.. walnut whips.. are smaller too.. I can now get a whole one in my mouth..  Gone are the days when we would just bite the top of and lick the cream inside..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I used to get the pack of 9 Coconut Toilet Rolls, Tesco's own £3.25. NOW.... It's been reduced to a 6 pack of longer (haha) Rolls. Price.... £3.55 last time I was in Tesco, the day I fell Jan3rd.I don't know what they are now priced at. Bloody Swizz at any rate.  :yell:

Alex

Yes its the same here too, although our 'cousins' are fast deserting 'Walmarts' (their Tesco & Sainsbury in one) to go to the discounters? 'Dollar General' are the biggest, (their Aldi). However most food supplies are a deal cheaper than the UK anyway. The 'branded' manufacturers are the real villains in 'downsizing' for the same monetary value. Americans are finding the quality of the discounters own brands is many times, just as good as say 'Heinz', but up to 60% cheaper.

Yanks, from what the UK calls 'Red Wall' areas don't go for 'BS' and are far more cynical just lately to 'woke' which increasingly gets a real rousting now in what we term  as 'Rust Belt' states. Basically those that suffered decline as the USA turned it's back on traditional manufacturing in favour of 'Silicone' valley Chinese imports! My home state, thankfully is one of them. The 'dear things' of California and New York are beginning to feel the growing social push-back quite acutely.
