you need to earn certain rights Peter.... by posts, you have only posted seven times...
It's 10 to post links. I added that requirement after a spammer arrived and posted links to porn.

There was a photograph in our local facebook page encouraging people to give to food banks.  A lady collecting some food had had a lot of work done on her face including microbladed eyebrows. I couldn't help but think that she at least needed lessons in prioritising!  It put me off donating.

I don't see how they can make sure that the food goes to people who really need it.  I can imagine really needy people holding back a bit.

There are so many things that some people consider 'necessities' nowadays that would not have entered our heads if we were hard up.  Sometimes rent and food are not atvthe top of their lists!

There is a local estate where the level of deprivation is high, the woman who runs the foodbank is paid by a not for profit organisation.  Part of her contract requires her to live there, she knows who are the needy ones, and I donate to that one.

Unfortunately whenever there is anything free, there will be freeloaders!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

That makes sense Granny Mac.

I would be happier giving to that one.

the story of the nurse using the foodbank closed doors for me....
just like the ignoramus of a nurse who stated that in her opinion when a person can no longer cut their own toe-nails they should be put down, confirms my thoughts on the minority of nurses... i just hope that particular bitch is now working at a big macs near you...

zoony

crabbyob, I've known many nurses, some in the biblical sense, :shh:  and I'd always opt for a male carer where possible. 'Nurse' used in somebody's name guarantees nothing care-wise even 'qualified' nurse can hide a person who shouldn't be.

my first wife was a nurse, and i was in Sanitorium twice with TB... lol.and i read the same bible.... :halo:
