Royalty should have to take their chances but she's not a household face so she could have gone on public transport & I doubt she'd have been recognised.

Anyway the bloody motorcycle outriders weren't for her protection, that was the job of the accompanying cars, they were there to clear the plebs out of the way so she wasn't inconvenienced
