Am I right in thinking his ideas were responsible for selling off all UK energy companies, water, telephones, gas, airports et cetera ?

Well it was certainly the Tory Government of that time which adopted the uncontrolled free market concept.

But nevertheless, we no longer have any 'big hitter' politicians such as Nigel Lawson.

I don't think I was much into politics at the time other than avoiding labour. Same now except it's avoiding labour, conservative and lib dem.

Anyway RIP to another name from my past.
