i have put on my computer a (pass word checker) to which i can test pass words to see if they are safe, the checker tells me how long it would take a person to crack that word ,
if o.k i put that password in my book , for future references ,and use it as and when i change pass words which i do every so often ,and i have a long list just in case.,

I don't use lots of passwords.. I just muck around with the main one that I use..
i hate passwords, i read a bit of great advice someplace, use the same password for everything just use a prefix...LCC for here...FB for facebook... YM for yahoomail..
I use different passwords, I keep a list but I know that's not a good idea. :hmm:

A friend of mine does that and is happy with it.

where possible i have different pass words for every thing I'm on
simply playing safe where as if i used the same password and some one got access to it then they would be able to access every web site or address
and any accounts that i have ,
and just in case i keep all these different and varying passwords listed with the emails i use, in my book , just in case i forget,

There's at least one website that commited the cardinal sin of storing password in plain text in its database. One I used in a lot of incosequential places got exposed in that manner. Putting passwords in that site is safe enought as they are not combined with userid or email address. Obviously they were in the data breaches.
