I use a regular frying pan.. Fill with water .. bring to the boil.. turn down heat.. Chuck in an egg..
Serve with toast and smoked salmon..
Woman in link makes it sound like too much bother..
My boiled eggs are always good and easy but this method is no good if you keep your eggs in the fridge (which of course you shouldn't..)
Bring water to a rolling boil and gently pop in your egg. (It won't crack if it's room temp). Leave it alone for 6 minutes before retrieving and eating. Yes, I had the mythical '3 minute egg' as some sort of rule but it's just bunk. 6 minutes then into cold water to stop the cooking. If I poach I usually use a poaching pan.
7 minutes long clip for a poached egg ?
Why shouldn't you keep eggs in the fridge Zoony ? some fridges have egg racks in the doors, I've always kept mine in the fridge at a constant temperature, which is what the "experts" advise.
I thought it was going to be a joke
put one pint of cold water in a bowl. Crack egg and pour gently into the cold water. Microwave for selected hardness/softness - I MW for 4 minutes as I hate runny eggs - for those who like them 2:30 is about right. Gets the perfect spherical shape upon which she was rabbiting on about half the time she took to talk
Mike
Oh, and I have a poached egg for brekkies 3-4 times a month
I do mine in a frying pan but with oil instead of water :halo:
Poached?

For one thing they crack put into boiling water but mainly cos eggshell is semi-porous and allows odours from the fridge to enter the egg sometimes tainting it..Not all experts agree of course...

I keep my eggs on work top..
Prefer poached to boiled..
It's odd that so many things taste like chicken but eggs don't.
I wonder who it was that first thought "I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes out of that chicken's arse" ??? :hmm:
probably saw an animal or bird eating the contents of an egg and thought - 'well, I'm hungry enough'

I have an idea that Floydy may not have been making an entirely serious observation Mike.
Ah!
