Not sure. I doubt whoever nabbed it asked permission or paid but at least it looks like it isn't open to the elements here and should last millenia in decent condition rather than slowy weather away.

It's the same with the Elgin marbles
Had they stayed in Greece they would be rubble by now .

Yes, give the statue back and the bloody marbles, not forgetting the manuscripts and bronzes stolen by the Brits.
Portugal, France, Belgium and Holland have already started I believe.
