I am going to buy some red wine for my SIL.. It will be his birthday soon..
I do know that he enjoys a good red wine...
However, being someone who has no idea about wine, perhaps others could recommend a popular one..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Chateau Nefe Du Pape is always good but £15 per bottle, or go Chianti or Rioja. Pinot Noir is a safe choice.
The problem with being retired is that you never get a day off

Thank you Vintage..
Because it's a special birthday I am happy to pay around 30 pounds..
I just don't know much about wines..

I'd go along with a good Chateauneuf du Pape too, if it's for a gift  :upvote:   Sounds posher than the robust Aussie reds I used to drink

Thank you to you both..

I bought some  Pere Anselme 'La Fiole du Pape'  Chateauneuf du Pape

 I took your advise..
