For those of you who like myself have experienced, on line shopping such as home deliveries or click and collect from a supermarket , the choices being very useful depending n what you require,  but having delivery now that   petrol or diesel had reached £100 for a full tank , naturally the super markets will pass on delivery charges as well ,

i suppose where possible in order to save money it'll be cheaper to go to the super markets as we did in the past, as the Tesco advert used to say every little counts,

Q; do you prefer to shop rather than either go on line and order your shopping or alternatively go and do a click and collect instead,

I have always gone to the Supermarket myself. My mother had home deliveries from Tesco and as she couldn't stand and cook a meal, there was always 7 ready meals in the order. BUT, the meals were always just on the use by date, despite telling the store to send ones with a long time before being past the time. This was in capital letters in the box for special comments. After several weeks of my daughter having to take them back to the store and explaining the reason for return, she lost it and had a real row with the manager of that department.
She changed to Asda for deliveries of household goods and to Wiltshire Meals for the dinners, so much better and a lovely man who brought them, he even packed them away in the fridge/freezer for her.

Hi Alfred.
I prefer to go to the shop . I like to see, feel and choose what I buy..
I am able to drive to nearby towns and don't need to rely on public transport..
However, I do buy online for many things .. Amazon Prime is brilliant.. and sometimes have a big food shop if I am busy..
I have never done Click and Collect.
We end up having to pay for things when the need is there..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

My Tesco delivery charge is £49.50 for six months - and I have a delivery every week. If I went to the supermarket - 14 mile round trip, that wouldn't even cover the petrol

Home Delivery is great if you can't get out but I much prefer to see what I buy, so as long as I can will do my own shopping.   Buying online is a hit and miss affair for me, especially clothes, and the faff of returning them, but you haven't got much to choose from in the shops anymore, our High Street has really gone down in the dumps.

I prefer to choose my own shopping too, particularly things like salad items and vegetables.  I do buy on line, but only stuff for the garden or the house, clothes need to be tried on I think, I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle of sending stuff back !

I don't buy much clothing online and what I have bought has fitted well enough. Returns are no big deal for me. Post office 100 yards away and a couple of shops that do parcel pickup less than half a mile away.

only once tried buying clothes on line (As opposed to socks and the like) Bought two pairs of cavalry twill trousers for winter wear. When they arrived they were hopelessly light weight so had to go back. This was about 6 years ago and the two pairs they were supposed to replace are still in use!
