Well done you Mike, if you published them you could donate any money earned to charity ! :upvote:

I wouldn't want money for them - publishing via Kindle means being taxed in the USA and the UK and the process, even if wanting to offer them free - to my simple mind - is fiendishly complicated

I'd like to take a look Mike as I'm sure others would Mike thanks.

I'd suggest you add each as a separate post with the book documenet as an extension then people can just download them. I have set the forum to accept DOC and DOCX but if you are using something different I can add that too.

Thanks -wildo. They are all Word documents which I attach to an E-mail. Worked OK before so 🤞
Just thought - can I actually post them on here - then anyone interested can simply download - on the earlier forum I e-mailed members individually which meant a lot of E-mails - no problem, but it would be easier if folk can just download from here, or am I misunderstand (hardly unknown)

Here we go

The Grass is Green (if this works I will add a synopsis - very brief to the post body to give an idea)
Sorry got the message attachment too big - whoops, use error - I just realised I was trying to attach the folder, not teh file :embarrassed:
still too big at 474 kb

my shortest book 'Bomber' is 250Kb - I'll try that - ah can't attach to an exosting post - incidentally, why do my attempts to post something following my existing post just get added to it?

thanks - I will have to study it, because I keep getting told the attachment is too big. Have to go out for a while now but I will have another attempt after lunch as I would really like to get this right. My shortest book, 'Bomber' is 32,000 words, 250Kb - the others are generally twice that length - 'Bomber' os a novella rather than a novel - will the system cope with such large attachments?

You need to click More at the bottom of an existing post and select Modify. Quick edit is just that and doesn't allow for anything more than quickly fixing typos etc. Modify brings up the full edit window which would allow an attachment to be added to an existing post.

Default forum behaviour when adding a new post shortly after an earlier one when there are no intervening posts is to just add it to the existing post. It makes perfect sense to me. For one thing it stops spammers post building to get extra rights.

I have increased the maximum attachment size to 2MB now. If you need more I can make it more.

thanks - got sidetracked with a problem this afternoon - I'll have another go tomorrow

The IRA seeking vengeance? Or a man seeking vengeance against them? Manchester might have been so different but for PC Larry Lamb.

Mike has emailed me the books and I'll be  uploading them all for people to download. I will run them throgh Calibre to produce versions that can be read by e-book readers too.

I've split out the original offer, added download instructions and made that thread locked and sticky.

Any comments on the books or problems getting a download please use this thread.
