Nothing I can see in his recent posts. Perhaps he's sitting watching the demo forum wondering where everybody has got to.

Maybe he has house guests again. Could be away in the car during daylight hours enjoying the sights ect.

I don't see any posts from him today..
He usually tells us if he has visitors or off out somewhere.. Most unusual..

thanks for the concern - not long after posting on Thursday, I contrived to put my back out - apart from painful visits to the loo and to make tea, etc., spent the entire day on the recliner - back was so bad I even slept on the settee in my clothes - trying-to raise, lower trousers etc., was excruciating. Still not right, but much better than 24 hours ago and able to get to bed as normal last night, but it's another day of taking tings easy

Ouch. I know what that's like myself. Hope it rights itself soon.

Hope you recover soon Michael, you are certainly missed on the forum.

I'm a good bit better than yesterday and no comparison with Thursday. I get this from time to time and although Thursday wasn't the worst that I have ever known, it wasn't all that far off, but thankfully looks as though it will be fairly short-lived. Once down south I was bedridden for nearly a fortnight, thankfully after I had retired so no work time lost.
Thanks for the good wishes, folks
Mike

Mike, Not to be a bringer of doom, but resting too much is not good, I did the same and thought it was a Sciatica flare up, I went to my Chiropractor after a few days of it getting worse, and it turned out the problem was a muscle had gone into spasm and locked. A few minutes later it was so much better I almost wept with relief, he then told me that resting it too much could make it worse.
Can I suggest you make an emergency appointment with the person who comes and does your massage? That would probably help you and quickly.

thankfully it is virtually back to normal now (1545) - but you are quite right - often resting makes the arm worse but, usually, not the back

Since stopping regular chiropractor visits once I retired I got a TENS machine which seems to help mine. Most of my back problems result in the muscles locking up rigid and the twitching TENS sessions gives them encourages them to relax and more normal movements be made. Probably wouldn't help everybody but they are not expensive. At least not all of them anyway.

I had a TENS machine a while back but had to stop using it when I had the pacemaker fitted. I did help when I had it.
Back almost returned to normal now, although it feels a bit weak and I am being very careful!

Ah I see. I guess a pacemaker doesn't appreciate a load of electric shocks. I never found any painkillers helped much. All that fixed mine was a couple of exercises the chiropractor showed me and time.

No, painkillers are useless for this sort of thing, unless you start looking at Oromorph or even morphine - obviously out of the question.

I was given a load of exercises to stretch out the back and other areas when in the pool, I do them before I swim, it loosens me up.

I do regular exercises to stretch the back - and others for the arm - but at moment the back feels a bit too fragile to risk - hopefully another day or two
