which to us meant

Gloria (was) sick in (her) Transit (on) Monday

just remembered another bit of Latin - not from schooldays, but a fair time ago. During the 1857 Indian mutiney, a British officer, can't remember his name, was ordered to capture the town on Sind, This he duly did and his report back to HQ was a masterpiece of brevity - just one word. 'Pecavi' 'I have sinned'
