That's so pretty!  We only have a small garden and the borders are full of perennials, no room sadly.  You could post a picture once yours have bloomed.

Then again, this is 2024.

They were warned over and over by the locals of what would/could happen. But they went ahead anyway....Money wins again.

I'm guessing that as it says on the video "Footage captured during the event, and by drone afterwards, hints that the storage of crushed rock on the peat might have triggered the landslide." the digging, heavy machinery and materials involved in constucting those foundations on top of what sounds like a huge area of peat disturbed it enough that a thick top layer started moving and just kept on going downhill.

Do any of you have an area in your garden that you let go wild for the bees?
At the garden Centre yesterday I picked up some of the Throw n Sow wild flower seed packs, to help the bees ect.
There's a wee narrow boarder along one side of one of the lawns and it's really too narrow for anything. I keep seeing park areas ect that the Highland Council have let go wild, they look nice and very colourful so I thought...Why Not.

True.  Until we do have the stomach for it, we shall continue to be invaded.
Surely, the future of this country is clear.

What I find so difficult to understand is that this mass invasion has been going on in such numbers for only a relatively few years.  I also cannot believe that so many of our naive young people are doing their best to encourage even more, yet they seem unable to look ahead for a few years to see the consequences.  By the time they are in middle-age, I'm sure they will then realise the severity of the problem.
I wonder whether they will then look back on what they themselves have done to create the problem

Quote from: muddy on Today at 09:03:25 AMHow do the wind machines cause landslides ?

Not the wind machines, it's all the digging and disturbance to the peat fields.

Going off track a wee bit, but still about violence. I was listening to the call-in earlier about the violence in schools now. Most people were of the same mind, teachers and parents alike. No phones in school and stop pandering to the do gooders, bring back a bit of discipline to the entitled ones.
I wonder if this is the start of a wee bit of common sense returning.
