i watched a young inteligent coloured couple on TV , than could quote the bible but didnt know of the crimean war.... this is why the above quote must always be remembered...
To many folk, not just the young, history is mostly unimportant, half-remembered names and dates of kings and battles they were forced to memorise at school. When it comes to modern history, even within living-memory stuff it's not what the yoof want to give their oh-so-valuable time to when there are reality shows to watch..
