I mentioned a few days back during a discussion on gasometers that the fencing around the forever-waiting development of the old gasometer site had been given a full graffiti facelift or for some defiled by it.

Google streetview is currently pre the change..

This is my dashcam footage from driving by it

Better? Worse? For me it looks less run down so better.

I like that kind of street art, just hate tagging.  There's a graffiti trail in Sheffield, some real talent.

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

In my opinion it's certainly not art sprayed on these walls,  some of it is well done but graffiti is vandalism and a symptom of urban decay and run down areas.  I hate the term's street art, street food, where did all that come from? but that's wonderful modern diverse Britain for you, not for me though I preferred the old one.

A lot of that is more what I'd call street art than graffiti. Here is some I came across walking near home during Lockdown

We're never going to return to the country of our youth, pea soupers, belching chimneys, drab industrial heritage. Most cities have post industrial areas, I love the fact that the owners of these buildings want them brightened up. Like the fencing in Northampton.  I wish I could post some of the photos in Sheff, the one of the birds is beautiful, if you look at nothing else, look at that. There's also some by Pete McKee, his paintings sell for a few bob, especially locally.  Although Oasis commissioned an album sleeve.

The blue tits.

There are a couple of tutorials on posting images Mac.
This one works for anything including images from your devices

That wasn't how I posted it below though I just used the add image button and pasted the url into the popup box

The WYSIWYG editor which works just fine on this release of the forum software can sometimes just do copy paste. You may still be using the standard editor. This shows how you can switch.

I'd call it graffiti, but it is colourful.  Those birds are really nice

Raven

They paint the end of some of the old buildings in Glasgow and in Ireland.
This was under a bridge on the river walk down in Perth last summer.

That is beautiful Raven.

I don't understand how people can say all grafitti or street art spoils buildings when its been commissioned.  Tagging is a very different game, some idiots here have spoiled some good street art by spraying their moronic tags on it.

Is that painted or made from a photo?

It certainly looks good. They should do some of those blue owls too

Raven

It was painted. It's still there, he chose a good spot as it's protected from the worst of the weather with it being under the bridge. Lots of footfall too as it's a popular walk.
