I loved Auf Weidersehn Pet!  Kevin Whateley was in Morse and Peak Practice.  My claim to fame - I was an extra for one episode of that.   :smiley:

Another memorable series of the time was Alan Bleasdale's the Boys from the Blackstuff.  Only five episodes, but Bernard Hill as Yosser was memorable.
