And here. ☔️  I'm in town having a coffee before I meet my daughter and family for food.  OH opted to stay home and watch the snooker.

Politics / Sadiq Khan

I thought we had a thread about Khan and his third term, but I can't find it.  Anyway, I think he will be re-elected, but Twatter is rife with people saying he will lose because muslims won't vote due to Labour's lack of support for Gaza.

Maybe wishful thinking for the Twatterati, but if true, wouldn't it be a turn up for the book ?

I think the police-woman yesterday was magnificent, especially as another officer had his hand virtually chopped off in front of her. We should only keep Tazers for auxilliary use. All officers should be armed as they are here and throughout Europe. A crazed terrorist with a sword can charge a Tazered officer and still kill even if hits it's target. At close range like yesterday the maniac, who'd already killed a poor little chap needed stopping with a pistol powerful enough to kill with one round. Thus other officers and citizens are not at risk for the sake of appeasing the wokes. This is now a changed world, irreversibly and exponentially violent.

I find the 357 short barrel (4") Colt Python magnum a most satisfactory appliance. Delivery like a brick though a plate glass window, low recoil for the muzzle velocity. However my choice and the one I practice with is a Makarov 9.27, suppressed (silenced) PMM with a 12 round clip. Very reliable, big shell and minimal recoil. A practical anti-personnel automatic. However if the ungodly are wearing Kevlar vests, the Python is a 'rib-crusher'. I keep these two together, to avail all comers

Quote from: Mups on Today at 09:42:33 AMI was told recently, that the pothole men are told to do  temporary  botches on these endless potholes,  knowing full well it won't last,  because that way their firm get paid over and over again for doing the same job!
Just up from me a fairly major road to a school forms a T onto a major road leading into town. It's also a bus route. There is a hole that opens up at that corner and gets repaired with amazing regularity. I reckon if they left it just a little longer we might start hearing about cars being lost down it.
