I suggest you move them to a south facing wall and go easy on the nitrates. Just a little John Innes No.1 should bring them along nicely, and try and keep the cats off them. If slugs are a problem use plenty of pellets, and as they start to bear fruit they'll need plenty of water so keep a can handy.
