Paul and I met up with an old friend and her husband yesterday and had a lovely few hours.  We used to work together over fifty years ago but they moved away. The last time we saw them was about twenty years ago.

We met in New Brighton and walked along the prom and through the park.  Neither of them had been there before and they enjoyed it.  We ended up in the local theatre for lunch on a table with a lovely sea view.

We took a couple of photos before we parted and a man stopped and took one of all four of us together.

Paul was worried that we might not recognise them but I saw them straight away.  My friend's hair is almost grey now but so is mine.  No they didn't look as though they had aged a lot.

The best friends are old friends.  One of my oldest friends popped in today for a coffee, we've known each other since we were 5 years old and we lived in the "old houses" or slums as they were called.
