It will only lower his majority. A great shame imo as a big one would stand a chance of wiping out both of the major parties. Not a good one but at least a chance. A flip to Labour with a modest majority just means we'll be stuck in the same old mould.

Quote from: Alex on September 14, 2023, 04:07:21 PMStarmer has now stated he will do a deal with the EU to take in a quota of illegals from mainland Europe.  I'm just wondering how can it make sense to take in a quta of 100,000 (alleged figure) when we're struggling to house the 40,000 already arriving.  I never could add up at school, but it looks like we'll send them back 40,000 and they'll send us 100,000   So Brussels will decide who and how many we get ?
This is what I predicted in my post #1, we might not officially be a full member at this stage but we will in all but name.

The agreement isn't just about accepting a certain number, we'll have to contribute to all the EU immigration control expenditure.

That's what Starmer isn't telling you.

I reckon the Tories are going to be signing us up to shed loads of extra Indians before Starmer gets his turn to screw us all over though.

Yes.  I'm afraid you're right.

As I've said before, it seems that the people of Britain see there being only two options in our general elections: Labour and Conservative.

As far as I'm concerned, both of them are virtually the same in all respects other than their names.  Consequently, whichever forms the next government, nothing is going to change.

I wish more people would think about it and realise that whichever of the two they vote for, the result will be nobody's fault but their own!

Today YvetteCooper and I met with Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle to set out Labour's plan to smash the criminal smuggling gangs.

I wonder why he didn't take " Ange "

I still can't work out why they all say crossing the channel in a dinghy is dangerous. Thousands have made the trip and only a handful have died. OK it isn't 100% safe but nothing is. The vast majority get escorted to our waters then get given a lift.

It's dangerous because they might stub their toes on some shingle when they disembark.
