Title: Rumour
Post by: klondike on July 03, 2022, 08:11:02 PM
Possibly more bad news for the Tories and possibly Boris.

Just a Twitter rumour but I think it will be dynamite if it turns out to be true - the suggestion is that Starmer is to be fined for his Beer&Pizza party. He said he'd resign if that happened and he must surely be an electoral asset to the Tories. Plus of course it will place pressure on Boris to go too.

It's so quiet in MSM, there's more to it than just Beergate I think

You surely can't think there is something going on between him and Rayner which you suggested in the other thread. I guess anything is possible but that I can't see.

I thought she only "winked" at Boris across the floor of the commons.

I wouldn't want Starmer to resign..
He is an asset to the Conservative Party..
All the time he is leader of the Labour Party he is putting votes elsewhere..  Very unpopular..

I can't see what the labour party sees in Keir Starmer. Nobody seems to like him, so how did he get where he is? He has risen without trace.

He is supposed to be the acceptable face of Labour I think. I suppose he will be ousted after any election win putting a Marxist in his place.

I knew him towards the end of my career in the same profession. He was appointed by Blair as Director For the DPP, Dept Public Prosecution and The Crown Prosecution Service, both in 2008, fully seven years before entering the House of Commons as MP for Holborn & St Pancras in 2015. From The 'Doughty Street Chambers' set up he specialised in 'Human Rights Grievances'. Took silk aged 40, as I've said before, he's a refined, well mannered and principled chap to meet.

He's honestly someone you'd be introduced to say at a dinner and instantly forget.

Whereas Michael Foot, whom I did meet at a dinner party, could talk to you for hours and would be entertaining for every minute. He was a great loss to Britain imho.

I liked Michael Foot.. I remember all the silly nonsense around him wearing a duffel coat to the Remembrance Service..
