The BBC has announced that Sam Smith has been hired to headline The Proms.   For those who don't know Sam Smith here he is performing one of his "hits".   He often dresses as a woman, so his 'Headline entrance' will be a surprise

I lasted a minute. Do I qualify for some sort of prize? Compensation?

Ruthio

He's been hitting the pie and chips .

Blimey,  you two did well to last a whole minute!
I only managed 25 seconds.  To me that was awful.
Lousy voice,  lousy song, and look at the state of him . . .

I think let people indulge their fantasies as much as they want -  in private.
What I object to, is those that insist we must all enjoy them too.

I was trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Having been married I can easily cock a deaf 'un for a quite a while

He has "presence", in the same way that a dog turd has a "presence" on a clean pavement.

Let's wait and see. I always watch the Last night of Proms on German TV and it's quite interesting to notice the difference in mentality between the Germans and the Brits.

I'm sure that used to be true.  However, many people today prefer not to work, but live on benefits!

Alex, no longer true. Germans discovered the "far niente" and our trade unions are dreaming of a 4 days working week.

Here taxpayers are dreaming of that too - for the civil servants still never going to the office since Covid.
