General Discussion / Re: Would you do a boring job ...
Last post by GrannyMac - Today at 01:50:19 PM
Lots of us have done boring jobs, or jobs we dislike.  Some of us do dangerous jobs. It's how we support ourselves, and the families we choose to have.

If your friend's son had a good job, he would be well paid.  Perhaps he could have worked at something more interesting but less well paid?

Benefits should never be a choice IMO. They should be  stop gap for anyone capable of work.    Obviously there are exeptions for disability, seriously poor health etc.

General Discussion / Would you do a boring job ?

Speaking yesterday to a friend .
Her son who had a good but boring job says it was killing him .
I felt so sorry I would hate a boring job and have to do it for life .
No wonder people prefer to claim benefits .
If the alternative in a soul destroying existence why do it ?

Ha ha 🤣

I am a big fan of the artist Jonathan Yeo
The face is amazing
For a man who has had such a pampered existence it looks old and worn .
It is IMO a great likeness
I am not sure about all that red .
It's certainly controversial

Quote from: muddy on Today at 06:22:36 AMI agree Alex

You can't start a war and then pretend to be victims
You can't start a war and say you going to do it again and again and expect your intended target to not take steps to neutralise you .
You can't start a war take hostages and expect their families to try and get them back at all costs ..

You can't expect your enemy to feed and care for your people while you try and murder theirs.

Unless you start a war with the Jewish state of course .

Well said.

Couch potatoes / Re: New Rebus.

At least they're using a Scot to play the part.
A black Irishman could have been on the cards in this day and age !
I won't be watching though due to no licence  but I'm not too upset, Rebus will always be Ken Stott for me.
