I think it's best we leave things as they are, am I alone in thinking this ? Perhaps show both metric and imperial on goods.

well as i said they have been teaching metric in our schools for fifty odd years..

Back in 1971 the biggest difficulty was spending them before inflation made them worthless.

To me it's the freedom to sell in whatever measure you choose. The EU forced us into accepting their measures and in fact compelled a fine of £2,000 upon a Sunderland Street trader who refused to sell in metric in 2001.
