Once again I face Xmas alone. Wife died and no relations at all.
BUT a neighbor, who I know but a little, is having a big
Xmas family dinner etc. with her Sisters, grand children etc etc.
Normally in this village I'm lucky if one person invites me in before or after Xmas for a coffee and mince pie. Never on Xmas day.
But this lovely person has invited me, a stranger to all her family, to Xmas dinner with all her extended family.
How many, so called Christians, would do that?
Would you?
Well, I don't really have the opportunity, but at least this year, unlike 2020, my s-i-l is on her way to stay with me over Christmas to the New Year. Geographically, she is now my nearest family member at 400 miles away in Hereford.
Mike
Would I do it.? I would like to say 'Yes'.. But I am not sure..
Flying Bomb..Enjoy your Christmas day ..
I hope everyone has a good Christmas but for me this year is the first without my husband who passed away in April .☹️
FB enjoy your meal x
What a good neighbour. Enjoy your Chrismas FB.

You do have my sympathy - the first Christmas without Veronica, even though some family came up, was truly awful. In a way, last year was just as bad because for the first time in my then 83 years, I woke on Christmas day to an empty house, courtesy of covid
Mike
FB, enjoy your meal with your lovely neighbour and just in case you haven't thought - take some lovely chocolates, wine etc.
Good neighbours, what a kind thing to do. Enjoy your day FB :upvote:

Both of you & Flying Bomb will be in my thoughts over Chistmas.
For me, Christmas & the New Year period will, forever more, always be a truly dreadful time as my wife came home from hospital on Christmas Eve 2020 so that she could die at home, which she did on New Year's Eve.
Thank you, Phil. Like your dear wife, Veronica's final decline started over Christmas
Mike
Phil I quite often think of how you are doing and I hope you are ok .my thoughts will be with you also over the Christmas . Take care. Xx

Thanks, I often think of both of you, & you & I went through the terrible journey at more or less the same time.
Yes, it's very difficult when there's a constant media countdown (come on folks, only 60 days left before Xmas etc) to the day.
My thoughts are with you all...
It's only one day, soon be over. There's sure to be a few of us on here over the weekend too :upvote:
ONE day? .. If only it was Alex, if only it was.
The shops are full of it weeks before I know, but once Christmas Day is over we're nearer to getting back to normal is what I meant.
Then comes the Easter Goodies hot on the Christmas Heels. [2110]
You forgot Valentine's day...
Oops. :embarrassed:
Flying Bomb... I hope you enjoyed your Christmas Day... I enjoyed mine..

Glad you enjoyed yours.
My lovely lady neighbor brought me a wonderful Xmas dinner.
Another lady, who I sometimes meet on my early village walks
and whom I know very little, knocked at the door with a present.
A book of jokes. I shall have to tell her another one of my own again.. She is a solicitor.....
"Did you hear about the Chinese lady who was a solicitor?
Her name was Sue Me. Her husband's name was, New Will."
Already they have brought a smile to your face.. and lifted your spirits..
Well done them...
