Popped into the precinct for a coffee.. Bumped into people that I had grown up with..
We all trotted/limped in to M& S for coffee..
It was like a bloody doctors surgery.. Everyone talking about their ailments.. Then the subject of driving came up.. At one point the guy at the next table even joined in...
  Of course all the men thought they were the best drivers..
When it was time to leave... it was the men who struggled more trying to stand up than the women..
I actually had a face to face with a newish GP at my local surgery yesterday! Nearly six months since I damaged my knee, no xrays or scans, just several diagnoses from A&E, and different physios, I still have ongoing problems, particularly on stairs. He's arranging an MRI, to find out what's really wrong. At last.
I was impressed, he listened, I liked his manner too. Lets hope I can now get a proper diagnosis, and get it sorted.
Good luck with your MRI, I had to get one on my knee when all my trouble started. I had keyhole surgery a week later, but at the Day Surgery Unit. Was told at the time though that I would need a full replacement in the future, and I did.
Thanks Raven. Fingers x.
When I damaged my kneee all I got was one X-ray and like GM, follow up physio appointments - the first few over the bloody phone !! I just stopped going to the physio as it wasn't helping me, I think I should have stuck with it in order to get an MRI. This is what a friend of mine did earlier this year and now GM has done the same. For me I guess it's back to square one :boo:
I was only 42 when I first damaged my knee. I did it at my sisters in the July, thought I'd just pulled a muscle. By next January I was still in a lot of pain and my GP sent me for the scan in desperation. It turned out I had torn the cartilage pretty badly and I had the keyhole surgery to remove the bits.
I wish you ladies had been sitting with us over coffee yesterday... One of my friends is using a stick for walking.. he has knee problems.. also getting over a stroke.. Such a lovely guy and a fighter , literally, he was a boxer back in the day..
My toy boy needs two replacement knees and his cataract sorting!
You would be welcome Sheila.. What a party we could have had.. :yahoo:
I have Diverticulitis ... I was the only one with that.. so everyone listened..
I've got a meet up on Monday with girls I worked with 50 years ago ! Instead of fellas, clothes and night clubs the topics will be something similar to Scrumpy's meet.
