Flying Bomb

1347 crossed Channel in Jan this year.
Never seems in the news now.
Like a growing cancer that no one notices
in it's early stages.

Food for thought?

James Harkin writes a fine report on refugees (illegal).. arriving on our beeches..
He is a resident of Folkestone be it for only 6 years (on and off)..
He is not living in Folkstone permanently and can not really understand the feelings of those that do..
It is all well and good to hear/read the thoughts of others who 'understand' the plight and misery of those who put their lives at risk by crossing the channel to get to ' safety' and 'freedom'..
However, words are easy to put on paper when you can walk away from it all.. and it is not in your back yard.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

It also rather depends on you believing that those arriving are escaping oppression. If that is indeed so why are they so eager to destroy any documentation which may back up their claims? How many refugees from other wars have a few grand in their back pockets to pay people smugglers for their passage?

Sorry but a lot of the sob story sounds rather unbelievable to me while economic migrant seems to fit quite well.

I have mixed feelings.  Sorting out the genuinely desperate from the chancers is the main issue once they're here.

Whichever they are seems to make no difference to the processing time, cost or for that matter final outcome as none get shipped back out sfaik.

hugh

Give them all a six month work permit on arrival and save the tax payer hotel bills.
