Quote from: JBR on May 06, 2024, 06:20:27 PMAs for Boris, I can't imagine that he'll manage to come back as a future PM.
As has been said, he has lied and it has recently been discussed on the telly how he held not one, but several parties at No.10 during the 'Covid years'.

It's a shame, because when he first stood for PM I thought he would make a good leader, and entertaining in a way.
Unfortunately, the Conservatives have failed to be Conservative ever since Cameron, and probably since they stabbed Maggie (my heroine) in the back.

He went Green round the edges - I doubt he even knows himself who he really is.

Never again ever a man ruled by the inside of his trousers ...

The present 'Conservative Party' is not representative any longer of 'Conservative' values. It's ruled by dictat from a grouping calling themselves 'One Nation Tories'. Margaret Thatcher called them 'Wets' . Limpid, Liberal, left wing centrists who suckled such as Dominic Grieve, Anna Soubry, Zac Goldsmith, Damien Greene, Phillip Hammond, David Gauke and Theresa May etc. By stealth they now control the 'Parliamentary Party' by an MP majority of 3 to 1 v's the typical traditional right thinking MP's. The membership of the Party, the fee paying loyalists however are formed in exactly the opposite direction. By manipulation of local party committees etc at grass roots level they have seen the likes of the present useless PM, and other odious individuals such as Schapps, Nokes, Mordaunt, Hunt - the list is endlessly depressive get elected to power.

The present Conservative set-up needs to be viscerally reduced as a Party in the coming General Election. Only by such expurgation can a new structure be allowed to develop. I believe many of the Wets will lose their seats and with them in the wake of the catharsis, their branch influence & control. The Right could regain the direction of thinking and in parallel a new approach to the selection  of parliamentary candidates who will be desperately needed to resurrect the country following a five year Labour/ Lib Dem , Green terminal spiral into financial ruin.

The Wets can either join their real vehicle of socio thinking the Lib-Dems, or perhaps remain as a lesser forced Conservative organisation. I'd love to see  a group of  newly elected Right wing MP's, say 50 out of 100 Tories post '24, cross the floor day one as 'Reformists'. Perhaps only by this radical re-shuffle and exposure could the 'Reform' Party gain a foot hold. It would surely ensure the Liberal Greens who have destroyed the Party with their Nett-Zeroed, blinkered denial of reality be reduced to a truer representation of their ideals.

Wets need the right wing to get elected they cannot survive alone, so now is the time to divide and let them realise their true place without their irksome 'leaver colleagues' from the right.

If not, by 2029 the UK will be a broken, bankrupt polarised hump of no-hope, EV leasing, nett zeroed zombies. Heading towards Shariah law and influenced by Smart phoned social media driven Asian student globalists.
