... with a warning of flooding and thunderstorms..
My mate gets very worried about the things she hears on the news..
She phoned me earlier today asking about flooding in our road..
She is concerned about watering her pot plants.. having a shower..
Also she said her heating will not go on this winter..
Poor Pina.. I tried to assure her that we do not have flooding in this area.
There is no hosepipe ban in this area. As of yet..
And we MIGHT get more help towards our heating..
All this scaremongering can worry many people..
I told her not to watch the news too closely..
I haven't the heart to tell her about the 'Posh' hotel nearby which enjoys far reaching views over Surrey is now housing (Illegal immigrants)..
She would never venture out again..
Illegals in Surrey? Bloody hell they really are running out of places to house them.
Yes what he said.
What's that costing us?
The bill for hotels alone must be up to 8 million a day by now.
3 billion a year.
There's always triple bunk beds I suppose.....

That's a good idea, pack 'em in.
A few more days we'll be asking when this rain is going to stop? A few weeks ago I was thinking there can't be much left up there to come down.
That was more than a few weeks ago. Bound to be flooding somewhere though.
We've had rain most of the day.
forecast here was for rain on Sunday to start 0800 - didn't actually happen until 2220, accompanied by thunder and lightning - which is still the case now -0420 - raain vey heavy
Mike
My weather app suggests you'll have plenty more. I wouldn't mind some here; my car is filthy.
It rained here last night! Hard!
Enough to clean the car?
I hope the rain, when it eventually comes, will be gentle with my car.. She is not used to power washes..
Mine is very accustomed to rain washes. I did run a jetwash over it the other day to make sure it was mine.
What a bloody night, thunder, lightning, and torrential rain. Alongside a hysterical Dageus who was terrified of it all, I'm black n blue from his paws scraping me as he tried to get into bed with us. Thunder has stopped but the rain is still on.
Poor Dageus.. He could jump in with me anytime..
Alexa has just told me that rain is expected here at 12 noon..
It's got to go some.. we have unbroken blue skies..
I use the Ventusky app on my phone which is usually pretty accurate and there is a website too...

Unless you live in the west or up north it's unlikely you'll be seeing any for quite a while today
Very nice animated map, thank you for sharing.
There is no rain forecast here until this evening. I wanted to open a new building society account so we went to Asda, then Paul took the shopping home and left me in the village. Guess who got soaked?
He has gone bowling in the rain now and I am trying to build up enthusiasm to do some tidying and cleaning. I have done the bare minimum while it has been so hot.
Hot humid night in North Lincolnshire & today day dry with wall-to-wall sunshine.
Bowling in the rain.. !!!! There's a song there somewhere. !!
Don't they get their balls wet?
I see our weather forecast has been 'adjusted'. Someone has looked out of the window!
I've just been sat out under the brolly in the rain, it was lovely. :upvote:

Poor doggie - give him an extra hug. Fleur wasn't too keen on thunder, and being small had no problem in scuttling under the bed clothes!
Poor Dageus, hugs from me too :upvote:
Thanks everyone, I believe he thought it was the 5th of November. He gets in a terrible state over fireworks.
He calmed down once the thunder stopped. Hopefully there won't be anymore tonight.
RIGHT hands up who as nick all our rain. Not had a drop in weeks although we should have had some last night and today. Next lot should arrive by 1700 if not out with the hose pipe again.

Same in North Lincolnshire, still very warm, all upstairs windows open & the forecast shows 62% chance of rain at 18:00 hrs with a high percentage chance until 09:00 hrs tomorow when the chances fall away.
The rain has just started, gentle & steady, not torrential, with luck it will continue until at least mid-morning tomorrow.
We had a little bit today..
We've had quite a downpour for the last couple of hours. Its cooled the house nicely!
We had roughly 36 hours of it, non stop, the place is awash.
Almost an inch in a couple of hours. It's stopped now and no more forecast until tomorrow evening.

Well it didn't last very long, it had stopped by 21:30 hrs & it's not raining at the moment.
Just heard from my s-i-l - Hereford had thunder, lightning and very heavy rain just about all night.
Hot spell followed by thunderstorms. I've never heard of such a thing. Must be climate change.
Very humid here.. Thunderstorms !! Wouldn't be surprised. They usually follow this sort of weather... Nothing new there..
No rain here today and it's still warm out.
15C here
A hot spell followed by thunderstorms and heavy rain showers is typical weather for an island. Yesterday we had blistering heat, today very heavy rain, if you went out you didn't need an umbrella, but a boat.
Thames Water announces hose pipe ban commencing next week.
When mum had washing on the line and unexpected rain appeared ,after the first few drops the word went up
'Its raining'.. The message was called out from neighbour to neighbour and carried up/down the road..

The weeds are coming through already..
