My daughter was on her hands free phone setup talking to me in her car last night, on her way home from work around 6.30pm. When she found her way blocked as she rounded a corner and came head on into this, [1080] I could hear it over the phone and it was terrifying, she was lucky to have no other car behind her and she managed to turn and get the hell out of there.
She had to go home a longer way instead of the shortcut through the estate, I could hear the unease in her voice after that, it clearly shook her, and scared the hell out of me. [2010]
What the hell is going on with the youth of today. [2110]

no mention of any arrests. It must have been terrifying for your daughter and other innocents abroad.
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the residents know who the trouble makers are but are scared to say anything in case of reprisals.

Sheila

Bring back the stocks and then throw rotten fish at them.

Michael Rolls

ah, c'mon-the poor darlings are rebelling to being spanked for wetting the bed
Being serious - every time something like this happens, I am appalled at how little the police achieve in bringing the malefactors to justice.
Think of the NI snatch squads - why isn't the same being practiced?

This is a regular event in some parts of England, it's obviously spreading to Scotland. I despair.

Raven

I've never heard of the NI snatch squads. :embarrassed: but I like the sound of them.
IMO, This is what happens when the Do Gooders manage to remove discipline from parents.

My OH grew up on that estate. It was becoming pretty feral even in the 60s.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

'Rioters '.. just a fun day out for them.
They have nothing themselves and respect nothing belonging to others..

Raven. I am pleased that your daughter got out of there without any problems.. Poor love. She must have been scared ..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Not riots as such but in the past there have been large scale drunken fights in the town. Smaller scale ones are regular enough to keep anybody with any sense out of town on Friday and Saturday nights.

The British these days are not really known for large scale rioting but often racial incidents drum up enough protesters for plain old criminality to take over. I suspect we will see more civil unrest the way things are going.

Raven

Aye, you could be right about that Klondike.
