I am old enough to remember when we were moaning 'Before long ,petrol will be 1.00 pound per gallon.'
(Oh how we laughed)...
I remember too, our Zypher ran on 4Star then. :check:
When I started driving - 3/11d a gallon. Now nudging £7.50 locally. If you apply straightforward infaltion since 1970 it would be around £2.20

we go on about inflation, but its not, its taxation
just look at how much tax we pay on petrol.... cigarettes... beer.... nowt to do with inflation more bad governing
why take a pound from the rich when you can get a shilling off everyone...theives... in a not very subttle disguise.... its taxation on any form of energy.... oil gas electricity,,, that feeds inflation
