Ms Oakeshott who is the ' ghost writer' for Matt Hancock has handed over private messages to The Telegraph, despite signing an NDA.  I don't know when Matt Hancock's book came out, but I bet Ms Oakeshott had been paid before she released/leaked this information.   :hmm:

Scrumpy

She reckons she spoke up because the people needed to know..

Her 30 pieces of silver won't go far if he takes her to court

Whether or not 'the people' need to know, I think she's a shitbag.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

She is one nasty woman, she was trusted by Matt (who I have no love for) she should not have done that. It also shows you should NEVER trust anyone who works in the media. She will get her comeuppance for this I'm sure, and serve her damn well right.  People like her make me savage.

All from the same swamp, you wouldn't want to turn your back on any of them would you?

She is exactly what that little sh1t deserved.
The problem with being retired is that you never get a day off

Has she not released ' snippets' from Whats App conversations and not the full text, so we're only getting half a story  ?  I'm certainly no fan of Hancock but he was a bloody fool to hand over the messages.
She's in the middle of this row now about journalistic principals (is there such a thing ?  ) which might just overshadow her scoop !

The 100 000 leaked WhatsApp messages send during Matt Hancock's time as England's health secretary

I haven't really been following this but recall something about them being made available under a non disclosure agreement for a biography or something similar. The non disclosure was breached on the grounds on that being in the public interest.

Michael Rolls

the more I see of this, the more appalled I am at the way government ministers were carrying on. Originally, I was unhappy at the way the lady breached confidentially - now I am glad that she did.
Oh, and Hancock is saying the quotes are selective, biased, and an anti-lockdown agenda. In the famous words of Mandy Rice-Davies 'well, he would, wouldn't he!'

I'm feeling the same now Mike, she was in the wrong to breach confidentiality but some of the stuff written is disgraceful.  Having said that I imagine the juicy bits were singled out for publication.

I guess so. We have run out of paperclips doesn't sell many newspapers.

The point is that the "juicy bits" are genuine (no argument I've seen says they aren't not have I seen claims that they were taken out of context)

What this leaves us with is that a bunch of pretty totalitarian rules were backed up by scare stories known to be untrue to get folk to follow them while the rule setters pretty much ignored them and demonised those that queried them. Not pretty at all.  Not new either to anybody that looked beyond the MSM bullshit.
