Although the chancellor said as from the 1st of April  councils will commence paying out the £150, to entitled  council tax payers who pay by direct debit,

now were in the 1st day of may i wonder how many people have received their £150. here in Essex  today weve not heard any thing as yet ,
so has the chancellor twisting words and playing games after his so called promise of a refund, ??

Q; what are your thoughts  regarding this one off payment ?

We got ours a few days ago. I shall spend it wisely. On whisky and beer.

Sounds sensible to me Oy.  We haven't had ours yet.

Not heard a word from my Council.  My son enquired of his and was told he would get it but not when.

The case of wine I bought with my winter fuel allowance is running low, so I know what to use it for.
The problem with being retired is that you never get a day off

I haven't received mine yet, maybe it's done alphabetically ?  It'll help with the rise in my bills..  It certainly won't be spent of whisky or wine.  Is it any wonder some of the younger generation think rich pensioners don't need free bus passes, pension rises and £200 winter fuel payment !

it only applies to houses in council tax bands A-D as I understand it. Not even sure it applies in Scotland

So glad that I haven't got one of those big houses up the road worth millions..
They didn't get it...  :nooo:    Lucky me..

Yes it does apply in Scotland, I'm just surprised that it isn't £250 in Scotland as it seems to do better than England with most hand-outs.

Yes and all paid from HM Treasury Westminster, so the wee Krankie can be very generous. In fact a win, win as she gets the kudos and we pay the cost. A bonus for her is hoping that the more she spends the more likely we'll be inclined to cut her loose?

Still she must be very pleased at $90 + dollars a barrel, lots of lovely oil revenues for her new Green pals to celebrate having around the place :halo:.

Hear hear.  Ours will go towards the extra heating costs over the winter.

My Glenallachie 15 has arrived - so that's half of it spent!
