Title: Need a moan ! yes another one
Post by: Alex on July 13, 2022, 10:35:50 AM

I bought a new combi microwave oven from Currys end of January, the thing has suddenly started to switch itself off 'mid cook' so I rang Currys and they gave me a number to contact Panasonic.  I did this and it looks like it will have to go for repair.  I'm mad because it's only 6 months old and surely Currys should replace it ? or is it normal practice for the item to go for repair  ?

This may help.

A quick skim suggests you may be  out of luck and they can just offer a repair. Morally with a daily use item I'd  say you are in the right but it looks  like you may not be legally entitled to refund or replacement. Don't take my word for that though have a read youself and do a bit of online research.

I bought a new microwave from Asda about 6 months ago, I remember the lady on the checkout told me not to lose my receipt as it was also my guarantee.
