Same title as the Michael Caine original - but a very entertaining film it its own right. Set in Venice basically, but all sorts of hat tipping to the original without being just a remake

I seem to remember an LA-set version a few years ago with little Markie Wahlberg in the main cast.. Anybody?
This one's set in Venice? Okay.. Filthy canals and rotting buildings as the backdrop.. I'm sure it'll be worth a watch. Is it available now?
I watched it on Netflix yesterday
Mike
Seems I already have it in my library but I don't recall watching it. Perhaps give it a go tonight.

There are actors in it I've liked in other films

I'll give it a look tonight.
I watched the 2003 version this afternoon. Enjoyable unbelievable light hearted romp. I'll give the 1969 version a go this evening. It has been years since I saw it and it will be interesting to see how they compare.
glad you liked it
I didn't remember anything much of the 1969 one. For me it hadn't aged well. I did stick it out but nearly gave up on it.
Each to their own. I've watched it quite a few times over the years
As I suspected it was the one I'd seen a few years ago but no matter. It wasn't hard to watch again. :upvote:
I will never forget 'You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!'
I've just watched The Italian Job, a bit far fetched of course but I thoroughly enjoyed it !
Glad you enjoyed it Alex.. I watched a new one called 'The King's Men'. (Not to be confused with the 'Kingsman' series of films) It was an entertaining romp. Good fun and a great cast.
and a prequal ? to kingsman i fancy
Yes, I think you're right.. It stands well alone though..
