Came across this. Don't know how true it is. I said the other day that I wished someone would put him down, looks like it may just happen.

Better the devil you know as the old saying goes.  We could end up with worse than Putin, perhaps someone who wouldn't hesitate to go nuclear ?

Raven

True, but I'm not so sure he wouldn't press the button if he felt like it.

Given the performance of his other military gear I'd question if the wire still ran from his red button or if somebody had weighed in the cable (and probably the nukes too) at the scrap dealers.

It takes more than one man to press the button.. It has to be agreed by others..
Puntin's reign would die along with millions of others.. He, and many worldwide leaders who rule, are far too vain/greedy to allow this..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

A successor to Putin could be worse.. Equally the West and NATO could dish out big problems to Russia..   Perhaps the Russian people will have had enough by then and rise up against their leaders.. Anything is possible.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I think Putin's demise will come from higher up the food chain than "the people" who, just like us, have no easy way to get rid of  leaders that just constantly lie and treat them like meal tickets and mushrooms.

Scrumpy

People have been known to overthrow their leaders.. Be they royal or otherwise.. It has happened in Russia before..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

It's possible that there could be a military coup. No civil uprising is likely to work in a totalitarian regime.

i came across this pictorial explanation of Russian society
