They used to use single deckers on the route that goes past mine. They seem to be exclusively double deckers now. They run every 15 minutes each way with a different service on a 30 minute schedule. They catch my eye as they stop across the road and so far as I can see there are very few times when there are more than a handful of passengers. That's a big diesel virtually empty all the time and completely empty apart from the driver other times. Not very eco friendly but of course if they ran less frequently they would get used even less.

There's a big difference between the useless government in Westminster and the useless government in Holyrood.

In Westminster the government got a big (but shrinking) majority in support of sovereignty so they can fanny around with a string of useless unelected (and pretty much unelectable) leaders and hang in until legally forced to call an election.

In Holyrood the government didn't get a majority at all in support of sovereignty so they can't fanny around with a string of useless unelected (and pretty much unelectable) leaders and will doubtless be forced into an election before the full term is served.

Mine is paid by DD in 10 instalments.  February and March are "free" months, but of course they're not, it just gives the council time to work out the next year's increase

We pay ours in 12 instalments. I like to keep things simple.

Reverent Brown was new to the church
At the top of the aisle he stood on his perch
He said 'Let us pray'
'We'll win the Lottery today'
Then I'll leave the church in the lurch.

Perhaps the pavement should play a warning to tell us there is a bus coming.

I totally agree klondike. In the more upmarket areas, where the immigrant population is more educated and higher earning, there is more integration.  The numbers are less of course. Its areas that have been taken over by people with different cultures and standards where the problems have mainly arisen.

Lots of truth in your post too JBR.  Bradford is a prime example.

With that in mind, perhaps we ought to rename the position of PM as Ayatollah since their job seems to lead shite politicians.😬

It certainly should be 'Ayatollah Khan', if it isn't the title already used by his fellow muslims in Londonistan.

Quote from: klondike on Today at 09:37:08 AMThe fact that there are specific areas with high immigrant population is a direct result of the push for multiculturalism rather than integration. A big mistake imo.

How often do you hear comments along the lines of "He's coloured/Indian/Muslim but he's ok". The ones that are accepteted will be those who made the effort to integrate. The rest just lead to tensions and resentments. You only have to read a lot of the posts here to see that. Mostly "He's" too as many of the women are simply kept away from those nasty British whose country they live in.

How many immigrants or even second and third generation women of some cultures simply can't speak any English? Don't tell me I don't speak Punjabi, Swahili, Arabic, whatever - I shouldn't need to as I chose to stay in my country of birth speaking the national laguage.
Exactly.  The difference between those immigrants we should welcome and those we should reject is simply 'integration'.

That explains why certain cities are becoming predominantly muslim is that most of them, at least those in such places, choose not to integrate and, instead, want to take control of their chosen locations.  This itself encourages even more of them to choose specific places in order to feel more at home and, disturbingly, more in control.

Many of those muslims who are a real asset to the country, choose to live alongside white British.  The obvious reason is that they wish to integrate rather than take over.
