The above post has been filled by a man, who will earn £36,000 p.a.
Women have been dealing with this for thousands of years, now suddenly they appoint a manager - a man at that ! How will he deal with shy, embarrassed young girls ? I'm all for free products, but this is box ticking gone bonkers. :nooo:
What are his pronouns? Maybe he identifies as a woman?
feel like beating my head against a wall - how much more of this bloody idiocy do we have to endure?
I find this totally offensive to women, what is dignified as Alex so rightly says some poor young girl having to go to a man at her time of the month. Nobody would ever believe it, but as a teenager I was painfully shy and would only go to a woman in Boots to buy my sanitary products, if it was a man I would have gone without.
This also goes along with the unisex loos in schools, girls want their own space and to be with other girls and women. And I am sure you chaps want male spaces and feel the same. What is so wrong with that?
These buggers won't be happy until they have totally destroyed us.
PS Just found the article, and I am particularly offended by the phrase "young people who menstruate." it's WOMEN you fools, men do not mensturate, simples!!!!!
Can I share your wall to bang my head against Michael Rolls? Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
I seriously doubt he's handing anything out or offering any advice. This is a do SFA virtue signalling position. Anybody that actually does any work in a council these days will either be getting more money or be doing a manual or clerical job.
This was the subject of the phone in on Radio Scotland this morning, there are a lot of unhappy people up here I can tell you.
The job involves promoting access to free sanitary products in schools and colleges across the Tay region.
Jason Grant an ex personal trainer from Dundee, will also discuss issues around the menopause as part of his role.

Ok I read that entirely wrong then. I assumed it was some BS office only job. All I can say is it's an odd choice but I guess that's a sign of the times. My only remaining thought is why is is necessary to promote free stuff?

Well you can't really have equality unless there is equality & not just as case of equality when it suits.
Madness.

This is not about equality ! why on earth would a man apply for this job in the first place ? I wouldn't apply for a Male Incontinence Dignity Officer job, if one came up. I imagine most men would want to discuss available products and issues around incontinence (or impotence) with another male.
absolutely
The sad thing is that it is acceptable.. And he is getting paid for it.. !!
Men breast feeding.. calling themselves any (alternative) name they wish other than what they really are. MAN/MALE..
But they can't CARRY nor give BIRTH to a child..
They are so envious of the FEMALE who is able to do this.. poor souls..

Careful, J K Rowling got into a lot of trouble for saying the same!
Scrumpy, aren't you supposed to say 'chest feeding'? Let's get this right!
Seriously though, what the hell are they teaching our grandchildren in school? Paul has done his best to counteract some of the madness. I think I mentioned ages ago that when our gc said that they had to stand up in school and say how they identify, Paul flicked his non existent hair and identified as a beautiful blond model.

She is a hero of mine is JK, wonderful women. I never liked Germain Greer, but she stands for real women too.
Looking at the picture above with the bloke telling women about a range of period products, it's a staged photo, as if us women need to or would actually seek advice from a personal trainer bloke on the subject it's a bloody joke.
I am also suspicious why a bloke would want to do this job? talking down to women? access to girls?
I would like to stick a Tampon up him where the sun don't shine!!!!!

So don't female GPs examine a bloke's prostate.
Or would I have to pay privately. Lol.

Diasi, thing is, would you have a personal trainer with no medical knowledge examine your prostate?

A (fit) busty blonde might just get away with it..
I can't help wondering why a man would even want to apply for a job like that. :boo:

This fella isn't a doctor. Phil I usually agree with you on most things, but in this case my friend, you're totally wrong.
He's resigned.
Jason Grant found himself at the centre of controversy after his appointment as Period Dignity Officer.
His suitability for the role was widely questioned, including by tennis ace Martina Navratilova who described his appointment as "absurd" and by SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford.
After "threats and abuse" levelled at people in the period dignity team in Angus, Dundee, Perth and Kinross, it has been confirmed Grant has stepped down.
The role didn't involve any gynaecology, it was supposed to ensure the supply of sanitary products.

Not a job for a man, I know when I was at school I would never have gone to him, neither would my daughter. This guy used to be a personal trainer at one of the health centres, why would he change to a job like that. I'm glad he's decided to leave, it just wasn't right.
A lot of things aren't right in life due to the equal opportunity rubbish, but it seems only those that directly affect women can be challenged.
This is all so bloody stupid... and it's not even a 'wind up' ..

Well what else do expect from the political midget North of the border.
You'd have thought because only girls and women have periods, a woman would have been appointed, mainly because it's easier to talk to a woman about such personal matters. But of course, there are people who say men can have periods too. This appointment was maybe pandering to that minority ?
well, some men have periods - of insanity and I reckon he is one such!

Men may not "have" periods but they can certainly suffer from them...

I think men suffer more from menopause Klondy
My words exactly Alex..
The good news is that the appointment was made entirely in Scotland by Scots and England had no involvement.
