The weapons grade chappy complains about "parasites"  used in relation to asylum seekers and sparky has been saying that for a long time now.

It's easy to over estimate down time. There have been several today but none for any huge length of time. I posted this URL on PF once but I'm not going to keep doing it. When people moan I do paste the outages.
https://favourites.digitalham.co.uk/PF/PF_report.php

Today so far

HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 00:00 to 00:12 - down for 12 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 06:31 to 06:44 - down for 13 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 12:37 to 12:44 - down for 7 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 15:44 to 15:46 - down for 2 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 16:19 to 16:34 - down for 15 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 20:00 to 20:07 - down for 7 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 20:57 to 21:13 - down for 16 minutes
HTTP/1.1 522 from 2021-12-02 21:38 to 21:39 - down for 1 minutes
Total downtime 73 minutes

It's not so much 'how long it's down but just the fact that it kicks you off with no clue as to how long.. several times a day really isn't on..

I don't understand why Chris won't engage and put up a post explaining what is going on. Something has changed recently and I'm guessing it was a change of hosting provider or move to a cheaper hosting package. The load that PF places on a server is trivial so whatever causes the problem it isn't us but something else on the same server.

It's possible Chris is fedup with the whole thing and is letting it go down the tubes.

That is my fear as I posted here -  https://pensioners.digitalham.co.uk/index.php/topic,15.0.html
but I'm guessing you probably already saw that.

The 4 registered here so far don't make a forum. The problem is we don't know how to contact most people apart from on the forum itself and I think that would cause trouble

Yes I know all about that episode, it happened when I was on a very long break so thankfully I wasn't involved with it.
It's going to be a game of wait and see. Hopefully the emails you want will be gathered and can be used if and when.

Welcome Mac.
Michael Rolls has registered too.

Yes it's wait and see. I would hope that if Chris does decide to hang up his hat there is a notice period and that would solve the problem of not losing contact with at least the regular posters.

I'm pretty sure that my little Raspberry Pi would cope but if not reliable hosting isn't expensive and I'm happy to sort that out myself.

I've never been one to roll over when people are deliberately being obnoxious. Take them on with gusto is my attitude & always will be.
